Dancers of the Bay Area

The East Bay Community Dance is back next Tuesday! NO dance tonight, however, as we give a little breather for the holidays.

This is an indoor dance event sponsored by EBCS and produced by Dan Zemelman (DJ DZ). East Bay Community Dance occurs every Tuesday from 7-9:30pm. All are welcome!

We simply ask that you respect our rules:
1) No talking on the dance floor
2) No shoes on the dance floor (medical reasons exempt)
3) Respect each others’ boundaries and receive consent before engaging with others

Moody Shapes channels their deep love of dance into eclectic DJ sets, mixing a saucy sonic brew of Afrorave, baile funk, Latin traphouse, shamanic melodic twiffle whomp, Balkan booty bass, and the occasional pop remix, so as to inspire playful somatic curiosity and exploration on the dancefloor — when peeps shimmy all groovy-like it causes wiggly vibrating electrons to emanate through time and space and for some fleeting moments all seems right with the world.

Doors open at 7:00pm for warmup and the main set is from 7:30-9:30pm.
Tickets are $21 to $23 pre-sale (or cash/PayPal/Venmo at the door)
**There is limited capacity at EBCS, so we recommend that you get advance tickets! We look forward to dancing
with you!

Description:

WELCOME TO EBCS!

East Bay Community Space is a beautiful and inclusive venue available for public and private events, co-working, and community building.

The Main Space is ideal for performances, meetings, workshops, film screenings, and celebrations such as birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, and wedding receptions.

The Telegraph Room works well for similar events in a more intimate setting.

The Meeting Room is an ideal space for meditation, yoga practice, bodywork/treatment sessions, and smaller group meetings.

The Co-Working Space provides an affordable alternative for artists, activists, writers, entrepreneurs, and telecommuters looking for a comfortable and inclusive work space.

We also have unstructured periods when the space is open to everyone, under the guidance of a volunteer host. We call this Open Time. During these times, the Main Space is available for dance, personal yoga practice, or hanging out. Please contact us if you’d like to host Open Time, or if you’d like to volunteer.

The space is fully permitted, accessible, and built to modern codes. We have a wheelchair lift serving our second floor spaces, ADA-compliant access and all-gender restrooms. We are a scent-free and chemical-free environment.

We have created the Community Space in cooperation with others who share our vision of community. We hope you’ll join us!
